The
truth is: that we want everyone to hate the people we hate as much as we hate
them. We might even ask God to hate them and send them to hell.
But
God loves even them. And what he wants is for us to love them and bring them
back to him. Instead we chase them farther away with our self-righteous
indignation.
Our
hate fuels their hate, and their hate fuels ours. We give each other exactly
what the other wants-- rage fueled hate.
The
devil influences their hate, and then their hate fuels yours, and Satan thanks
you for a job well done.
God
is love and mercy. Everything loving and merciful is from God. Satan is hate
and condemnation. Everything hateful and condemning is from Satan. Those who
are for Satan are against God, of their own choice and free will. Not making a
choice is still making a choice.
God
does not condemn us to hell. We choose that for ourselves-- if we choose
anything other than God. Hell is literally the absence of God. Would you
condemn God for loving you enough to give to you what you want?
However,
we can never choose for someone else. Would you have your enemy choose for you?
When you hate someone, curse them, you are trying to send them to hell. But you
are only giving them power over you. You are giving them the satisfaction of
watching you put yourself through hell.
When
another human is your enemy, you will forget that there is a real enemy that
hates you more than your mind can imagine. And even worse, you forget that
there is a God that loves you more than you can comprehend.
Only
by stopping the worship of the false feelings of great power hate pretends to
give you, are you free to worship love— God. The adrenaline and endorphins
released through rage and hate are the same overdosing effects as cocaine and
heroin. We can see people throwing their lives away to drugs, not realizing that we have been looking in a mirror all along.
Turn
your life over to one who cares about you even more than you do. God loves you,
and is willing to die to prove it.
