The Truth About Sin

We all believe that sin is something that we do that is bad, and we are punished for it. Simply, sin is death.
Suppose, God is fire, and sin is gasoline. Let us pour just a little sin on ourselves, one gallon of gasoline, or so. Now that you are covered in just a little sin, just a little bit of gasoline, how close would you dare to get to God, in all of his glory and fire?
Would you not keep away, far away, from Him? Would you not hide from Him in fear? The sin, the gasoline is keeping you from God—  the fire.
Because God is a good and loving God, he does not reveal Himself to you. You have covered yourself in the gasoline that is sin, and he cannot be close to you, and in your life. You would go up in flames, and perish with your sin.
Sin cannot exist near God, and when it burns away, it consumes whatever is bathed in it.
Sin is anything that keeps us from having a relationship with God. The most important thing, in the universe, is our relationship with our creator.
Who among us would not sell everything that they own, their TVs, computers, cars, even their house, if it meant the life of their child.
God loves us and has given everything for us, even allowing His only Son, Jesus, to be murdered, in order for us to be close to him.
In our world, if we do something bad we go to jail. In jail, we cannot have a real relationship with our friends and family. We are separated from them— they did not push you away. Your friends and family do not want you in jail, they told you and taught you to do good so that you would not go to jail, and could be close and have a closer relationship.
Our God wants us near him, he did not create sin, because sin is not something, but rather it is a lack of something.
God hates sin because it causes us to fear him and hide from him. God hates sin simply because it keeps us away from him. (Genesis 3:8 like Adam and Eve Hiding from God because they now know that they are sinners and are fearful of impartial judgment.)
